Dear Believer: Seasons

In today’s writing I just want to share my heart. Whenever I go on social media and see everyone wins, there are days I’m just excited for great things happening and there are also days where I’m just overwhelmed with everything — especially on the days where I feel like I am not moving at the pace I expect to be moving at.

I have realized that there are seasons for everyone and for everything. The best part is that these seasons come, go, but come again.

There are the fast-paced days, there are the slow days, and there are the still days. What should excite us as believers is that God is with us all these days and most times, He places us in these seasons to prune us, proof us, and to establish us, if we partner with Him to do what He set those seasons for.

During our stay in this unredeemed world, there will be sad days, days filled with uncertainty, hurt, and discouragement. Still there will be happy seasons filled with joy and all things working out better than we planned. Understand that God is with us in the fire and in the rain.

Bad seasons do not make a good God bad! It just means a season of life in this world has come upon us and this makes the offer to receive grace to help us in times of need such a great asset to the believer.

We know that all things that we need to navigate life and godliness have been given to us in Christ Jesus. So therefore, let us hold fast to what we have and what we believe because we will need these truths to guide and guard us.

Seasons come and season go, but what we do in a season shows us the true state of our hearts. God sometimes uses seasons to show us areas where we need Him more and if we submit to His refining, we will come out of that season so much better than we entered it.

Also, how we treat others when they are going through their seasons shows how much compassion we have and how much of the love of God is in our heart.

If we say we love God but do not show the compassion of God to our fellow brothers, can we really say we love God?

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8

For everything there is a season,
A time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.
